Adults Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

  • Our adults BJJ program is designed for adults of all ages and degrees of fitness/exercise experience. Whether you are looking to learn self-defense, to build self-confidence, or just to get in better shape, our BJJ program may be for you.
  • We teach fundamental aspects of self-defense geared towards real life situations where an aggressor may be bigger, stronger, faster and better equipped than you. We teach you how to defend yourself and escape from a dangerous situation, as well how to control an opponent and eventually render them ineffective, if need be. We do this by teaching a combination of defensive tactics and positions, takedowns, ground control, body positioning, and submissions through the application of chokes and joint locks.

Childrens Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Anti-Bullying

  • Let's face it, kids get bullied, and your child will eventually encounter a bully. Will your child fall victim to the bully or be empowered to confront this bully? We teach your child self-defense geared towards real life situations where an bully may be bigger, stronger, faster and better physically equipped than your child. Your child will learn to defend themselves and escape from a dangerous situation, as well how to "mentally", "verbally" and, if needed, "physically" render a bully ineffective. One of the most important things we stress to our children is why a bully decides to bully, and when it is appropriate and inappropriate to use "physical" jiu jitsu. If your child ever decides it necessary to get physical with a bully, we teach a combination of defensive tactics and positions, takedowns, ground control, and body positioning to kindly stop this bully dead in their tracks.
  • Our youth BJJ program is designed for children ages 5 and up. It is designed with the goal to introduce children to jiu jitsu through fun and engaging experiences and exercises. While having fun and getting exercise, your child will learn the fundamental aspects of self-defense, build self-confidence, and gain empowerment to stand up for themselves and others.
  • Whether your child is currently being bullied, looking to learn self-defense, to build self-confidence, or just burn some energy, our childrens BJJ program may be for them.

Judo

  • Our judo program is currently designed for students ages 13 and up with varying degrees of fitness/exercise experience. Whether you are looking to learn self-defense, to build self-confidence, or just to get in better shape, our judo program may be for you.
  • We teach fundamental aspects of self-defense geared towards real life situations where an aggressor may be bigger, stronger, faster and better equipped than you. We teach you how to defend yourself and escape from a dangerous situation, as well how to control an opponent and eventually render them ineffective, if need be. We do this by teaching the art of judo. Judo, a close cousin to jiu jitsu, focuses on getting an opponent from their feet down to the ground using throwing techniques. These techniques emphasize using an opponent’s momentum, force and energy against them.

Women's Jiu Jitsu

  • Our womens jiu jitsu program is designed for women of all ages and degrees of fitness/exercise experience. Whether you are looking to learn self-defense, to build self-confidence, or just to get in better shape, our womens jiu jitsu program may be for you.
  • Let's face it, most women have fears that most men don't have or understand. Men don't have to worry about walking out to their car at night or if the man approaching them is thinking about assaulting them. Because of that, women must first understand this reality, then decide to learn to protect themselves, and discover that Brazillian jiu jitsu (BJJ) is one of the most ideal self-defense systems to learn.
  • Although BJJ may be one of the most effective self-defense systems, most women don't want to be in those training positions with a man that is not their significant other. Because of this, during class women are encouraged to roll with other women or an instructor they are comfortable with. As our student base of women grows, our goal is to have a womens only class taught by a female instructor.

Law Enforcement & First Responders Defensive Tactics and Arrest Control

  • If you are a law enforcement officer or first responder, thank you! We love and appreciate you. You face dangerous situations every day, and daily put your life on the line to keep our community safe. Thank you for your service and the sacrifice you make to keep our community safe.
  • Here is the bottom line, you will be a thousand times more effective in protecting yourself and your fellow officers during a dangerous situation with an assailant if you know jiu jitsu.
  • Northern Colorado Jiu Jitsu's Law Enforcement and First Responders Defensive Tactics and Arrest Control Program focuses on the specific dangers and situations you face on a daily basis. Above and beyond the fundamental aspects of self-defense, control, and management of dangerous situations, we address the components of arrest control, multiple assailants, assailants under the influence of substances, weapon retention and protection, mental and verbal control and communication while under chaos, and a multitude of factors specific to your job. We do this so that you have a better chance of getting home safely to your family at the end of your shift.
  • Ask Dylan Copello. Dylan is a Loveland Police Officer who was recently attacked during a call by a suspect under the influence of drugs. During the fight, the suspect grabbed for Dylan's gun, admitting later that he was planning to kill Dylan and then himself. Dylan, a 13-year law enforcement officer with only one year of jiu jitsu training, ultimately controlled the situation using a jiu jitsu technique he had learned in class; the suspect went to jail, and Dylan got to go home safely to his family.
