  • Sandals should be worn at all times when not on the mats and should be placed on the edge of the mats while training. All students are expected to bring sandals to class.
  • Clear passage around the mats must be ensured for safety of others and for fire code. Do not leave bags, gis, clothes, shoes and other items in the aisles or on or under chairs at any time. Chairs are for sitting not storing items.
  • All items (except the above mentioned water bottles and sandals) MUST be stored in the white cubby at all times.
  • Bring your gi and belt to every class and wash in between every class.
  • Please wear a shirt under your gi top while training.
  • Remember to bring your own water bottle to every class.
  • Use the restroom to change before and after class.
  • Please clean up after yourselves in the restroom, and if there is something out of stock, please let us know.
  • Under no circumstances should children be left unattended in the building or the lobby area. Children must sit in training area if parent is training. No young children upstairs.

As our academy continues to grow, it is very important to us to ensure our students and families are coming to a safe and positive environment. Please note the following expectations we have of people when they enter our building.

First, there has been confusion as to three distinct parts of our building (understandably as we have been renovating and reorganizing the building). Please allow me to explain.

  • Café Sevilla. When you enter the front door of our building, the main lobby area is Café Sevilla. This area is for parents, students, and those we invite to our building to sit, work, and enjoy free Spanish coffee, tea or hot chocolate (when the coffee bar is open).
  • NOCO Jiu Jitsu begins when you step over the black rubber floor border from Café Sevilla onto the blue/white epoxy floors surrounding the training mats.
    • **Please note. Café Sevilla and NOCO Jiu Jitsu will be separated by a glass wall and entry door that will be installed the week of July 10th.
  • Upstairs Training Room and Leadership Library. This is a space in our building where employees, parents of students or invited visitors may sit to work, connect to WIFI, read, or quietly sit to observe class. Many parents enjoy this space as it is away from the foot and people traffic of Café Sevilla and NOCO Jiu Jitsu. NO children, please.
  • Everyone who enters our building is expected to behave and speak with respect to everyone else in our building.
  • Under NO circumstances are children to be left anywhere in the building unattended by their parent(s) or guardian(s).
  • Children are expected to sit quietly, respectfully, responsibly, and safely in our building with their parents.
  • If a parent/guardian is training or teaching on the mats, the same expectation applies. If you are training/teaching on the mats, your child is to sit on one of the chairs around the mats in NOCO Jiu Jitsu, and nowhere else. They are to be in your line of sight at all times.
  • As many of you know, Hailey loves kids, and loves to play with and entertain them. This may have created confusion as to her being an available resource to leave your kids with. Please know she is not.
  • Parents, please do not sideline coach, interrupt or interject during class. It is distracting, confuses kids, and is disrespectful to their learning, our teaching process, and the coaches.

If these expectations are not met, we will individually address them with those who are not meeting them.
